Delo Group acquired 10,000 green renewable energy certificates on Sber's platform
Delo Group has acquired 10,000 green certificates confirming the production of 10,000 MWh of electricity from renewable sources. The certificates were issued in the Voluntary Certification System for Low-Carbon Energy set up by Sber.
The transaction conducted on Sber's platform came as part of the implementation of the Federal Law on Electricity, which provides for the creation of a Russian low-carbon energy certification system. The solar power plant Orenburgskaya SES-5 will be the supplier of green electricity, while the consumer will be Eurasia's largest railway container operator PJSC TransContainer (part of Delo Group). The certificates will confirm the production of 10,000 MW*h of electricity and offset greenhouse gas emissions of more than 3,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent.
"We consider it a duty of business to be responsible towards the environment and since 2021 we have been systematically implementing projects in this sphere both in the railway segment and in stevedoring activities. It is gratifying that domestic low-carbon energy certification projects are being actively developed and we have Sber as a reliable partner in, with whom Delo Group already has experience of successful co-operation in other areas," said Sergey Shishkarev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group.
"Sber pays great attention to the principles of sustainable development and strives to provide the most convenient and transparent ESG tools to its customers. The launch of the low-carbon energy certification system is the first step towards a marketplace that will provide all conditions for quick and comfortable transactions with green certificates. It is important for us that one of the first participants registered in the system is Delo Group, the largest domestic transport and logistics holding and a reliable partner of Sberbank in a wide range of areas, including sustainability," said Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of Sberbank's Management Board. < Back to list
