On August 30, 2019 the unique deep-water berth of Delo Group of companies was opened at the container terminal NUTEP, located in the South-Eastern cargo district of the port of Novorossiysk.
The construction of the berth was completed in July 2019. The opening procedure took place after completion of all commissioning works of high-tech equipment manufactured by ZPMC, which was delivered and installed on the berth of the NUTEP terminal in spring 2019. 3 STS cranes, 4 RTG cranes and 2 reach stackers were delivered for the new deep-sea container berth.
Berth No. 38 has no analogues on the Black Sea coast. It is able to receive container vessels with capacity to 10,000 TEUs. As a result of the commissioning of the deep-water berth, the throughput capacity of the container terminal of Delo Group increased up to 700,000 TEUs.
The main characteristics of berth No. 38: berth length - 390 m, berth width - 113 m, berth depth - 15 m, storage capacity on the berth - 3,080 TEUs, berth area - 4 ha.
Sergey Shishkarev, President of Delo Group, pointed the strategic importance of this project: “Berth No. 38 at the NUTEP container terminal is not only additional throughput capacity of our deepwater terminal in Novorossiysk, but also an increase in transport potential in the South of Russia.”
The CEO of DeloPorts Igor Yakovenko commented on the completion of the investment project: “The construction and commissioning of a new deep-water berth at the NUTEP container terminal is one of the Group’s largest projects in recent years. The total investment amounted to 125 million dollars. The increase in capacity and the use of new equipment will allow our customers to expand their opportunities to work on the Group’s leading asset.
