For reference: growth of cargo turnover through all Russian sea ports in 2012 was 6% * compared to 2011.
Growth was registered for every cargo type except for general cargo. Containers and Ro-Ro cargo were the main contibutors.
Container cargo handling volumes at NUTEP terminal (NUTEP, OJSC) were 2 158.8 thous. tons or 215.3 thous. TEUs, reaching 15% and 8% growth respectively. NUTEP strengthened its position in the market: practically the entire growth of container turnover in Russian Azov and Black Sea basin was attributed to NUTEP. The terminal was able to increase its market share in the region. Best performance was registered in first and fourth quarters when NUTEP showed 31% and 19% growth (in TEUs) respectively. NUTEP container turnover growth rate exceeded the average industry performance. Growth of Russian* sea ports container turnover in 2012 was 8%, with 15% growth at NUTEP .
In the grain segment the Group, represented by KSK terminal (KSK, OJSC), also showed substantial growth rates. Terminal’s grain turnover reached 985.4 thous. tons, or 39%. Principal reasons for these dynamics were:
grain export ban in the first half of 2011;
grain harvest in 2012 was substantially lower than in 2011;
modern technology of grain loading was implemented in the 3d quarter of 2011;
storage capacity increased from 10 thous. tons to 50 thous. tons in August 2012, with further increase to the current 90 thous. tons in October 2012;
grain receiving was conducted only via auto transport, launch of the railway reception in the first quarter 2013.
DELOPORTS grain turnover growth effectively surpassed the industry average: Russian ports* grain turnover increased by 23% in 2012, KSK turnover – by 39%. General cargo turnover in 2012 decreased due to KSK reorientation from general to grain cargo.
Oil products handling (Novorossiysk Petrotransshipment Complex LLC., NPC) was launched in May 2012. During this period main terminal’s clients were bunkering companies operating in Novorossiysk; consistent increase in capacity utilisation rates contributed to accelerated quarterly turnover growth 53% in Q3 vs. Q2, and 91% in Q4 vs Q3.
A 44% increase of autocars (Ro-Ro) turnover was reached by substantial cargo volumes increase shipped via ferries between Novorossiysk and Sochi (due to preparations for Olympic Games).
The company continues to maintain strong positions in bunkering market of Novorossiysk.
Demonstrating substantial improvement in operating results, DELOPORTS continues to expand its throughput capacities and to improve its client services in every stevedore segment.
