Walk of Fame opened in Novorossiysk under support of Delo Group
Delo Group supported the construction of the memorial – the Walk of Fame in the city of Novorossiysk at the F. Ushakov State Marine University. The Walk of Fame rose at the collective grave of the combatants of the World War II, who gave their lives for the Motherland, with 2,603 names honored. The students at the University were engaged in the project “Heroic descent” where they were able to connect the memory of the past to the present. Over 150 relatives of the combatants were found in Russia and neighbor states.
The opening ceremony took place on September 4th. The Head of the Board of Delo Group Sergey Shishkarev decided to create this memorial in early 2020. “Commemoration of the names of our heroes who gave their lives for our freedom on the Small Land, prior to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory is an important step to put down in stone the names of the people who defended this “lock to the North Caucasus”, which the fascists couldn’t break”, - said Shishkarev.
The festive opening celebrations were initially scheduled for May 9th. The works were completed with the financing of Delo Group and they were completed in time. However, the epidemiological situation interrupted the timely opening of the memorial. On that day, the students laid the flowers on the memorial and honored their legacy with the minute of silence.
Now, the Novorossiysk has another historic site, were people can remember our fallen heroes and thank them.
