TransContainer delivered first cargo shipment arrived from China to Russia via Amur River to Moscow Transportation Hub
PJSC TransContainer (part of Delo Group) delivered the first shipment from Khabarovsk to Moscow transportation hub, the cargo arrived from China to Russia along the Amur River by river transport. This is the first time of implementing this transportation solution in the industry.
The river part of the route connects the Chinese city of Fuyuan (Heilongjiang Province) with Khabarovsk. After transshipment at TransContainer's terminal at Khabarovsk-2 station, the containers are transported to Kupavna station (Moskovskaya Railway) using the company's service. Within the framework of this transportation TransContainer provides its equipment such as containers and flatcars.
The first batch of 100 Chinese-made cars transported in 50 forty-foot containers were unloaded at destination point on October 17. In the long term, it is planned to transport about 600 cars: part of them before the termination of this year's river navigation, the rest - after opening of the spring river traffic.
"The steady growth of imports from China and the load of the Far East railway infrastructure create prerequisites for launching alternative routes. Due to the availability of a wide terminal network, TransContainer diversifies the transportation geography and develops multimodal logistics with the participation of water transport", - said Alexander Podylov, Vice President for Commerce of PJSC TransContainer. < Back to list
